Dave Bautista is in talks with WWE for a match at WrestleMania 35, according to Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.
Bautista, who wrestles under the stage name Batista, made a successful transition to acting after landing roles in films such as Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Spectre (2015) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018). He worked for WWE from 2000 to 2010 before returning in 2013-2014. He reunited with Evolution on SmackDown’s 1000th episode last year.
Satin reports Bautista is 50/50 on returning at this point based on how talks have gone. In addition to interest from WWE, the upstart All Elite Wrestling (AEW) promotion is also said to have interest in the former World Heavyweight Champion.
AEW is a new company financed by Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham F.C. co-owner Tony Khan. Wrestlers Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks are Executive Vice Presidents of the company. Chris Jericho is also confirmed to be under contract, with a television deal reportedly in negotiations.
Bautista turned 50 years old last month and hasn’t wrestled a match since 2014.
