Kristaps Porzingis Will Not Play This Season Even If Mavericks Make Playoffs

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban made it clear that Kristaps Porzingis will not play this season even if the Mavs somehow make the Playoffs.

“He is (still) out,” Cuban told on Monday.

The plan all along has been for the Mavericks to hold Porzingis out for the remainder of the season after acquiring him from the New York Knicks earlier this year. However, Porzingis appears physically ready to play and the whispers had started should the Mavericks, who are currently in 12th place, vault up the NBA Western Conference standings.

Porzingis suffered a torn left ACL in a February 6, 2018 game against the Milwaukee Bucks while a member of the Knicks and hasn’t played since. The Mavericks view him and rookie sensation Luka Doncic as the cornerstones of their franchise.
