Dwight Howard To Begin On-Court Work Following Spine Surgery

Washington Wizards center Dwight Howard will return to D.C. on Wednesday to start on-court work, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Howard, 33, has been limited to just nine games this season as he underwent spine surgery in November. He’s been doing his rehabilitation in Atlanta, GA.

Howard’s injury plagued season has been a disappointment following a stellar 2017-2018 campaign with the Charlotte Hornets. Last season, Howard played in 81 games and averaged 30.4 minutes per game. His stats last season were closer to vintage Howard with 16.6 points per game, 12.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. Obviously his numbers this season do not compare due to such a small sample size.
