Clint Capela Expected To Play Thursday Against Lakers

Houston Rockets center Clint Capela is back at practice and is expected to play Thursday against the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Capela has missed 15 games due to ligament damage in his right thumb and will return to action, barring a setback.

The Rockets starting big man spent the All-Star break in Houston working out and playing one-on-one with reserve center Isiah Hartenstein. His surgically repaired right thumb passed all tests.

“It felt great,” Capela said via MacMahon. “I was really happy about it, so now I’m ready to go.”

Capela, 24, was in the midst of a great season, averaging 17.6 points per game to go with 12.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocks.
